Long Beach students head back to school | Schools

Bells were ringing again in the halls of Long Beach High School Monday. Around 800 students filled the halls of the school.

Principal Peter Dabbs said he's excited about what the success of this day means for the rest of the year.

"Today's gone really well. We had a great opening ceremony, where we brought the kids into the gym and welcomed them back. The entire 10th, 11th and 12th graders welcomed all the 9th graders to the highschool. It's been a fantastic first day here," Long Beach High School Principal Peter Dabbs said.

As a fun new way to ring in the school year the teachers adopted a super heros theme with t-shirts that read teaching is my super power, what's your's?

Six new teachers also started today at Long Beach High School.
